People travel all over the world but sometimes, destinations may be so regular that you would like a faster way to get there. I’m sure that’s how many people feel about the trip between New York City and London.
There may be an opportunity to travel the distance between New York City and London much faster, at least if the construction of a transatlantic total takes place. That title would connect the two locations for a very fast trip from one to the other, but it will come at a cost.
According to some estimates, the tunnel connecting London and New York City would cost about $20 trillion. That is a tremendous amount of money, to say the least, but it would cut the travel time considerably.
It is estimated that traveling from one city to another using a transatlantic tunnel would only take about an hour.
Many people might feel as if this is nothing more than science fiction but after the successful build of the Channel Tunnel, such an ambitious project may just be within reach. Then again, it would not be easy to do.
Not only are we talking about a $20 trillion price tag, it would also take a long time. 23.5 miles of tunnel that stretches from England to France took six years to make. Imagine the thousands of miles to build the tunnel under the ocean.
There may be other opportunities to make the tunnel that stretches from one city to another. Some people feel that it can be a floating tunnel that is approximately 50 m underwater. It can be made from prefabricated segments, secured by cables, and assembled much easier than digging a tunnel from one to the other.
As far as getting from one place to another, jet propulsion is one option that is on the table. The problem is, you would have to have an 18-minute deceleration at the end if you were going top speed so you could arrive safely.
It’s amazing that this could take place but as of yet, there are no serious proposals being considered. It’s interesting to think, however, that it is even a possibility.
