18-Year-Old Beauty Queen Has Died Tragically

It is sometimes difficult to wrap your mind around the death of someone so young. Unfortunately, many people are now trying to process the death of an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant.

Kadance Fredrickson, an 18-year-old pageant contestant who was the Okaloosa County teen and competed for the Miss Florida Teen USA crown, has died. She had a bright future ahead of her, but it was cut short.

According to reports, the teenager was accepted into nine different colleges and was planning to become a veterinarian. Unfortunately, she passed away before she was able to see it to fruition.

Just a few days before she died, Fredrickson interviewed for a presidential scholarship. She was then awarded a full-ride scholarship to Mississippi State University.

People have heard about the tragic death, and many have taken to social media to express their condolences and talk about their grief over such a tragic loss.

When Fredrickson was young, she experienced abuse, but she was later adopted by her stepmom, Lisa Fredrickson, in 2017. Lisa said that the teenager decided to go into pageantry ‘after years of therapy.’

She continued, ‘She came home one day and said, ‘Mama, can I do a beauty pageant?’ And I said, ‘Well, yeah, but if you do a beauty pageant, you have to talk in front of people, because she still didn’t talk a whole lot.’

‘And she did it. She bought the ugliest dress she could find because she just wanted to be like a princess. She didn’t win a thing, but she was hooked.’

In addition to participating in beauty pageants, she also volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House and reportedly raised over $25,000 for the organization. Eventually, she opened her own organization to donate teddy bears and blankets to children in foster care.

It is reported that the teenager was driving on State Road 4 and crossed over the centerline for an unknown reason. She was struck by a tractor-trailer.

They are still investigating the accident.
