We live in a world that is constantly changing and I think that most of us would agree it is sometimes changing for the better and sometimes changing for the worse. One of the ways that the world has changed is in teenage pregnancy. It is a very difficult situation for any teenage girl that gets pregnant but that is especially so when they are in their younger teenage years. That is where Kayleigh Snaith comes in, a young girl who became pregnant and decided she was going to keep her baby. In fact, she was only 13 years old at the time.
We can only imagine how difficult it was for this young girl to become pregnant at such an early age. We also can’t imagine what must’ve taken place in the family as they made the decision to keep the child and then realized that they were going to have a lifetime of raising the child in front of them. According to one report, Kayleigh said that it was not easy to give birth to a baby girl at such a young age. Of course, we all realize that would be the case but she goes on to talk about how she would have to be a mom at home but then be a child when she went to school the very next day.
Not everybody had the same view of this situation as she did. According to some of her classmates, they thought that she was ‘disgusting’. Of course, many of them eventually grew out of that feeling and now that she is 16 years old, she is a young student who is studying at high school in Stanley, County Durham in the UK.
One of the big challenges that she faced as a young child and being pregnant was hiding the condition from adults in the community, including her teacher and parent. She concealed the fact that she was pregnant for six months until her mother found out and then she gave full support to her daughter.
When her daughter was born in 2016, she named her Harley and they formed a very special mother/daughter bond. Now that Harley is three years old, her mother decided to take things to the next level and brought her to the prom to celebrate high school before graduating.
