Teacher Breaks Protocol Over Teased Girl And Hatches A Remarkable Plan

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of a teacher? Many of us think about somebody who takes care of our children and looks after their education. They are the individuals that are with our kids during the time that they are at school and they help to ensure that they are prepared to enter college and eventually, life. Although that may be true in many cases, teachers are much more than just educators.

Kinsie Johns is a good example of a teacher who goes above and beyond when it comes to taking care of her children. She loves her job as a third-grade teacher and she wants all of her students to feel loved and safe in her classroom. That is why, when she found out that one of the students was being teased, she felt distressed over the situation. She could’ve blown up over the situation and caused a scene but she decided to do something else.

This took a lot of preparation and required that she did something that would take care of the situation once and for all. She wanted to teach her students a lesson and as it turned out, she did so in the best way possible.

Kinsie thought long and hard about what to do and on the following day, she came into class and absolutely shocked everyone. Nobody was expecting what she did.

One of the students in her class was being teased because she styled her hair in a fashion known as “space buns.” A little girl wore her hair like this on Tuesday and by Wednesday, she was being teased and called ‘space girl’.

This really saddened Kinsie so she came up with a brilliant plan. She went over some of the finer points with the student who had already been teased. She even wrote a little note on her hand so she knew what to do.

When Kinsie came to school the following day, the students were in shock. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing, including the young student who was being teased.

Kinsie said: “She was beaming when she saw me and the students noticed that our hair looked the same.”

She then wrote on Facebook that she wanted her students to be themselves. She wants all of them to know that it’s okay to be different. She quoted Dr. Seuss, saying “why fit in when you were born to stand out!?”

A day after this happened, every student was copying the same hairstyle.

“The little point I was trying to make turned into a huge support for my little friend. All the girls in my class are wearing their hair in ‘space buns’ and even some of the boys got involved! They all wanted to support her and we even got some second graders involved!”
