Pregnant Mom Goes Into Induced Labor So Her Dying Husband Can See Their Child

We all hope we can go through life without any serious problems but sometimes, we may find ourselves in a situation that is extremely difficult to manage. That is what happened with Diane Aulger, who was in a situation that nobody should ever have to go through. It was a moment that was so stressful in her life that most of us would not know what we should do. Although the outlook was bleak, she took a situation that was very bad and made it the best that she could manage.

Diane was getting ready to give birth to a baby girl. At the same time, her husband was dying of cancer. He continued to go downhill during the time that she was pregnant and by the time it was close to the end of the pregnancy, he had become bedridden. The doctors thought that he would die a long time before the baby was born and this was heartbreaking to the entire family.

Her husband was initially diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He was able to overcome cancer but unfortunately, it wasn’t long before he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. That scarring, which occurs in the lungs, hampers the flow of oxygen to the brain. It also affects many of the other organs in the body.

At this point, Diane had to make a very difficult decision. She wanted her husband to see the birth of the child. There are going to be people who don’t agree with what she did but she felt she didn’t have a choice.

Originally, she had planned on going through a natural birth process. She felt that it was important to induce early labor so her husband, Mark, could have the opportunity to hold his baby girl. Her name was savanna.

We sometimes hear about stories such as this. We can count ourselves fortunate if we have never gone through these issues but they are a reality for some families. You can see the moment in the video below. Just make sure that you bring your tissues, you will need them:
