Legendary actor Christopher Walken has appeared in more than 100 TV shows and movies. Some of his big hits include The Deer Hunter, Annie Hall, The Dead Zone, Batman Returns, Pulp Fiction, Joe Dirt, Irreplaceable You, and many more. Walken has won tons of awards and nominations, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Deer Hunter. His movies have grossed more than $1 billion in the U.S., making a lot of people very wealthy, including himself, since his net worth is estimated to be $50 million. Walken is also known for being on the boat with Natalie Wood when she drowned in 1981 while on a Thanksgiving boating trip in California.
Chris, as his friends call him, has also played the lead in Shakespearian plays like Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth, and is a popular guest on Saturday Night Live, where he’s famously done a skit with record producer Bruce Dickinson called “More Cowbell.” Walken has even won an Emmy for his role in Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Sarah, Plain,, and Tall. As a teenager, he also worked as a lion tamer in the circus! With all that we do know about Christopher Walken, one thing not everyone knows is that he’s a trained dancer. Sure, we see him dance in movies, but he was actually trained by the Washington Dance Studio. One of his earliest roles was dancing with Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland’s daughter, in an off-Broadway revival of Best Foot Forward.
A few years ago, a gifted videographer took every Christopher Walken dancing scene he could find and put them together to “Dance Now.” Christopher Walken is one of the move respected actors of his generation, and it’s easy to see why. This is a man who is an artist and has devoted his life to his craft, even forgoing children so that he could be more prolific, even though he’s been married to the same woman for 50 years. And wow, can that guy dance!
