Line Of Women Sing World War II Classic For Special Veteran Guests

We have all become accustomed to seeing talent on television. It seems that the talent shows just keep coming and their popularity shows that people absolutely love seeing it. Of course, all of us have a talent but sometimes, that talent deserves worldwide attention. That is why popular shows, from Dancing with the Stars to Britain’s Got Talent, continue to hold the attention of the audience.

The nine women that you see in this video are dressed up in military costume from the days of World War II. They appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and it wasn’t only their appearance that hooked the audience, it was their performance. The four judges were looking at the singers and trying to figure out what was going to take place. They stood in formation, locked their arms behind their backs and had some beautiful clouds rolling on the screen behind them to add a visual effect.

It didn’t take long before the audience was joining them in a patriotic song, waving red, white and blue glow sticks above their heads. The D-Day Darlings, as they are called, stood in front of everyone and sang ‘The White Cliffs of Dover’.

This song was originally a poem that was written by Alice Duer Miller. It was made into a motion picture in 1944, which was used for the theatrical stage in front of everyone.

As many patriotic songs do, this song began to touch people’s hearts and the lyrics caused visions of wartime in people’s heads.

“I’ll never forget the people I met braving those angry skies. I remember well as the shadows fell the light of hope in their eyes. And though I’m far away I still can hear them say ‘bombs up.'”

The D-Day Darlings began singing a series of short solos and then converted into a group harmony that sounded fantastic.

This group was originally a trio that got their start back in 2008. The families of the members are in the Armed Forces, including the grandfather of Katie Ashby, Clifford Storr. He was a flight navigator in the RAF for the Lancaster Bomber.

The D-Day Darlings primarily focus on classic World War II songs. They also make special appearances at historical sites and events, including one at the Imperial War Museum. When they did the performance on Britain’s Got Talent, they also had a special surprise ready for the end.

When you get close to the two-minute mark on the video, red and blue confetti started falling from the skies. Dozens of military veterans walked down on the stage in full uniform.

Some were able to walk without any problem but others needed some assistance. They took their place in front of the women who were singing and the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

The judges also gave a standing ovation and when the camera panned across the crowd, any active military in the audience were singled out.
