Children are helpless in who their parents choose to marry after the divorce, but one mom really got it right when she was choosing a man to be the stepfather to her little girl. You’d never expect a guy who’s a NASCAR driver to have a heart of gold, but Brian Scott does. When he got married in 2015, he said wedding vows to not only his bride, Whitney Kay but also to Whitney’s little girl, Brielle. Brian is holding back tears as he kneels down to tell the adorable little girl that he will “always hold her hand” and “skip with her down the street.” He adds that he’ll always “bring comfort to her life.”
Brian didn’t stop there. He added that he vows to “make you say your prayers before you eat” and promises to read her stories at night. And he doesn’t forget to promise that he’ll “always tuck you in real tight.” He makes an even more significant promise when he says that he’ll show her how a man is supposed to treat a lady. He finishes by saying that he’ll protect her, care for her, and love her forever. Brielle followed the couple down the aisle as a flower girl and even had her own tiny diamond ring. Viewers of the video applauded the young Idaho man, saying it’s the most real and wonderful thing they’ve ever seen. Brian seemed surprised that his wedding video went viral, and he was also surprised at how emotional he got when he was saying his vows to the little girl. He expected to get emotional when saying his vows to his wife, he shared. He said that at that moment, it just really all hit home hard.
The couple is still happily married, and they have added a new baby, little Joseph, to their growing family. Scott says that he’s really enjoying fatherhood.
The young family lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
