Founder & CEO Of $62 Million Company Was Abandoned In A Dumpster As A Baby

Some people tend to be a product of their own, personal history. If they were born into a situation that was bad, those individuals will likely have a future that will follow the same course. Most of us realize that it is easy to follow our history but it doesn’t always have to be that way. In fact, some of the people who have gone on to inspire millions of others had a background that was less than ideal. In some cases, part of the inspiration may be the fact that they were able to overcome odds that seem to be stacked in their favor and to do great things later in life.

Although we all probably have a story that we could tell, one of the people who tells the story in an epic way is Freddie Figgers. Freddy’s mother gave birth to him and shortly after the birth, abandoned him in a dumpster. It would seem as if this was one of the worst beginnings that an individual could have, but Freddie didn’t allow it to hold him back. In fact, he allowed the difficult beginning in life to inspire him to do greater things and as a result, he has become a role model of successful individuals, even though he is only 29 years old.

Freddy was adopted when he was two days old by Nathan and Betty Figgers. They showed him a lot of love and support while he was growing up and he, for his own part, turned out to be quite an intelligent young boy. He got his first computer when he was nine years old but it wasn’t working. Rather than simply throwing it in the trash, he fixed it himself and had it running within no time. He was even able to get a job as a computer technician when he was 12 years old.

Freddie started his own cloud computing service when he was 15. He was visiting an Alabama car dealership that was affected by a tornado and lost all of their customer files. He helped them to put their information on a remote server so it would never happen again and he did it all from his own backyard.

Something else that Freddy was well known for were the different things that he created. One of those was a shoe he created for his father. After Nathan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease when Freddy was a child, he started having problems with his memory. His son wanted to keep him safe, so he created a shoe that would be a two-way communicator and a GPS tracker.

“I could pick up the phone and say, ‘Hey dad, where are you at?’ and he doesn’t have to do anything, just lean down and talk into his shoe and I can track his location,” Freddie explained. “That program was very successful and I had a company reach out to me out of Kansas and they bought the program from me for $2.2 million.”

The money that Freddy got from the creation of the shoe was used to start the company, Figgers Communication. It is a telecommunications firm that is valued at more than $62 million. In the United States, it is the only minority-owned company of its kind. Freddy is both the CEO and founder and is making breakthroughs with anti-texting and driving software. He also is responsible for creating the cell phone with a built-in blood glucose meter to help people with diabetes.

Freddie doesn’t consider success to be about the money, he wants to create a better world.

“I believe turning caring into action, and if you see a problem find a solution to deliver an impact to change someone’s life,” Freddie said. “I’m going to impact this world and change today for a better tomorrow, because money is nothing but a tool, but with that tool we can impact and change everyday people lives with opportunities.”
