Elton John Shares What Happened During Freddie Mercury’s Final Days

When you think of iconic music stars, the image of Freddie Mercury is probably one that enters into your mind very quickly. He was the frontman for the band, Queen and his songs are still being played on the radio very frequently, even many years after he passed away. Mercury was known for his flamboyance and his stage presence but unfortunately, he passed away in 1991 due to bronchopneumonia that was a complication of AIDS.

Although Mercury has been gone for 26 years, his music and his life continue to touch many who have fond memories of him from so many years ago. Elton John, who was a close friend of Mercury up until his death shared the details of the last days of that impressive singer in his book, ‘Love Is the Cure: on Life, Loss and the End of AIDS’. John recounted those days that led up to the death of Mercury. He also talked about how selfless the singer was, saying that he still tried to take care of other people, even after he got ill and the end was near.
