When was the last time you had pizza delivered? It’s one of those meals that many of us enjoy on a regular basis and we might even have a night of the week that is specifically dedicated to that particular delicacy. When we do have pizza delivered, it’s usually a quick visit by the delivery guy, payment, and a tip so that we can send them on their way and dig in. That wasn’t what happened when Bryce Dudal, a 17-year-old pizza delivery boy visited the Varchetti family. He dropped off a pizza and before it was over, he left them with a memory.
Bryce is dealing with a lot in his life, including everything happening in school, working at the pizza shop and applying for college. In his younger years, and obviously up until the time when he delivered this pizza, he also spent a lot of time practicing the piano. When he saw that there was a piano in their home, he decided to do something that would be above and beyond the delivery process. Although he stopped by from the local shop for a delivery, his impromptu performance is going viral online.
After Bryce arrived at the Varchetti’s home, he handed over the pizza and took the cash. That is when he saw the baby grand in the room. Suddenly, all he wanted to do was play the piano.
He asked if he could take a closer look and they agreed. They started talking about the piano and how nobody in the family has played it for quite some time. That is when he sat down, stretched his hands and began playing. What he played was Beethoven, and it is beautiful.
Bryce said that playing the piano was always a passion:
“[Learning to play the piano] was a long process. You have to sit there and think and try to put it on the piano, piece by piece. I couldn’t read music back then. I would sit there and listen for hours and hours and try to figure it out…
A lot of people sit down at the piano and play something slow and beautiful. But when I play for someone, I like to go all out.”
Everyone in the household was stunned at what Bryce was able to do with the keys. The youngest child who was playing a video game at the time even stopped to watch him play the piano. Thankfully, somebody thought to record the moment.
