Coast Guard Rescues 14 Dogs From Hurricane Floodwaters

We have all been watching the news over the past week or so, especially as far as the weather is concerned. Hurricane Florence was bearing down on the Carolina coast and it did not look good for those who lived in the area. More than 1 million people evacuated the area before the hurricane came onshore and there were still many who were unable to leave that needed rescued from their home. It is still a very bad situation, but thanks to the kindness and bravery of those who are helping, it is a little easier for those who are in a sticky situation.

Most of us tend to focus on human life, and we do so for good reason. The problem is, many tend to forget that there are other living beings that are also suffering as a result of the natural disasters that happened around the world. Animals are at the top of that list and they certainly have experienced suffering when it comes to these types of storms. There’s one family, however, that is making sure that their beloved dogs got out safely and it was not negotiable.

Thankfully, there are rescue teams in place to help save humans and animals. The US Coast Guard is the subject of this video, and we can watch these heroes save 14 dogs. The numbers included 10 beagles and four pit bulls that would not have been able to survive otherwise.

When Josephine Horne found that her trailer was submerged under water, she needed to be rescued by the Coast Guard along with her husband, Jackie. Her beloved pets, however, were not able to get out on time and they were trapped in flooded cages. Some were trying to swim around but they were having a difficulty finding ground to stand on.

It was then that another boat pulled up and the Coast Guard jumped out to begin saving those animals. It started with one beagle who had barely kept his nose above water.

“If we would have gotten here just a few minutes later, I dont know if these guys would have made it, Mitchell said.

They then started to do a heroic rescue mission that is going to touch your heart. Both Josephine and her beloved dogs could not be more grateful.
