Boy Lets His Hair Grow Out For Two Years Then Cuts It All Off For Kids With Cancer

When we hear the news or read anything on the Internet, it is often slanted toward the negative. We all realize that ‘bad news sells’ but sometimes, we would just like to hear something good. We may even stop watching the news because we find it so frustrating but when you find a source of some good news, you grab hold of it and don’t let go. We are about to share some good news with you and it is certain to put a smile on your face.

The story involves a young child named Thomas Moore. In 2014, Thomas was eight years old and he made a decision that would change his life as well as the lives of others. The decision was simple, he decided to grow his hair. The decision was made after he saw a video of a five-year-old girl who had cancer. Angie Pulos, his mother was watching the video when Thomas came up behind her and saw what she was watching. He was only eight years old at the time and didn’t understand what he saw completely.

His mother explained what they were watching and talked to him about the treatment for cancer, including chemotherapy that could make a child lose their hair. She wanted his innocent mind to have an understanding of what was taking place but she didn’t want to overdo it. She explained that some children have to go through chemotherapy and would suffer through a lot of pain as well as losing their hair.

Thomas was touched by what he saw. He began to think about other children who had cancer and he hatched an amazing plan. He started growing his hair right away because he wanted to do something to help.

Thomas realized that it had to be difficult for such a young girl to lose her hair. That is when he decided he wouldn’t cut his hair until it grew long enough to make two wigs. He didn’t know how long it would take but he was willing to wait.

After his aunt shared the story on Twitter it went viral. Over 57,000 shares and many comments were given to the story. People had a hard time believing that a child so young would want to do something to help.

Tom let his hair grow long and full. He didn’t cut it for two years and it also had an impact on him at school. He had gotten popular because of his long hair but after it was cut, he didn’t know what people would think. He didn’t regret having his hair cut but he was still nervous.

Thomas is now a teenager and he is considering doing it all over again.

It’s amazing when young children are able to teach adults a lesson in life. Thomas Moore is a great example of helping others.
