Many folks dream about having children of their own one day. However, sometimes life doesn’t work out that way, and they decide instead to share all their love with an adopted child.
This was the case for a woman named Jessica Satterfield and her husband, Brandon. The couple tried to get pregnant for years before deciding to adopt a child.
They figured they had so much love to give and there were so many lonely children out there just waiting to be a part of someone’s family.
At first, Jessica and her husband adopted a beautiful little girl. The process went smoothly, and soon, they decided to expand their family by adopting two more kids, both boys.
Obviously, the children all had a different skin color than their adoptive parents, but that made no difference when it came to the strong family bonds they managed to forge together.
Jessica understands that some folks might think it’s “weird,” but she always forgets her kids are adopted.
And thankfully, a lot of people who see or know her beautiful family feel the same. Of course, they do get a few strange stares here and there, but they also get their share of smiles and kind remarks from complete strangers.
Jessica regularly shares stories about their unique life on social media and mentioned on one occasion how an older white man came up to them at a restaurant just to say how beautiful her family was.
However, there are always those who see fit to spew their racism toward her family. They’ve managed to handle these relatively-rare incidents with infinite class and grace during these times.
While visiting a local park, one day, a small boy came up to one of her sons and asked an innocent question.
Like any loving parent, Jessica absolutely melted with pride and love after hearing her son make such a profoundly wise and mature statement.
It’s so inspiring to see how this lovely family doesn’t allow the judgment of others with flawed hearts to dictate their happiness or define what a family is supposed to be.
