If you ever had to travel on an airplane with the baby, you realize that it can be a very harrowing experience. It is also difficult if you happen to be on the airplane when somebody else has a baby. It’s not that the child is automatically going to be fussy but when you know that a child is on board, you begin to worry about it right away. It can take a very relaxing flight and make it seem as if you are in the air for hours on end.
Sometimes, unexpected things happen when you are traveling and that is what happened to Evan Hughes and his family. He was traveling with his wife and eight-month-old son when they got separated because of bad weather. He wanted to be a good father, so he decided to take the baby with him and then catch up with his wife later. He knew that it was risky because the baby had only flown one time before so he was likely to be fussy. As it turns out, things were going fairly well but that is when his son decided to get up and say hi to the woman sitting next to them.
Evan was concerned that the woman would be annoyed with his son’s persistent attempts to get friendly. She assured him that it was okay and held out her arms so the baby could crawl over on her lap. Within a few minutes, the baby was sound asleep. She told Evan that she would keep his son and he could take a quick nap if he wanted.
“The kindness of this stranger was truly refreshing on what was quickly becoming one of the worst days in a long time. There is still hope!”
Traveling can be unpredictable but when good people are there to make good things happen, the experience can be amazing.
