Richard Gere is one of those iconic actors who needs little introduction. He’s starred in many movie roles and remains one of the timeless heartthrobs from the 80s and 90s for millions of fans worldwide.

Recently, the star took time out of his busy schedule to celebrate his father’s birthday, just as any good son would!
Richard Gere’s dad, Homer Gere, lives in North Syracuse, New York, and recently celebrated his 100th birthday on a Sunday with his son and beloved friends and family.
The group celebrated his centenary at a local restaurant in Armory Square, and Richard Gere was front and center during the celebration.

The birthday party took place at Pastabilities, one of the area’s oldest restaurants that’s been in operation since 1982.
It’s not hard to imagine how delighted the owner and his staff must have been to host Richard Gere and his dad to help them celebrate such a momentous occasion.
The party concluded around 8 pm, and in a post by the restaurant, the caption read: “Richard Gere came in to Pasta’s tonight to celebrate his father’s 100th birthday.”

Richard Gere was born in Philadelphia but grew up in Central New York. He attended and graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1967. Homer Gere is a former insurance salesman who volunteered his service at the North Syracuse fire department. In his life, he also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Richard still enjoyed visiting the area to visit with his dad. His mother and Homer’s wife passed away in 2016.
In 2018, Richard married Alejandra Gere. They have two sons together, Alexander and a younger son born in 2020. The couple decided to keep their kids out of the limelight. Therefore, the public doesn’t even know the name of their youngest child.

Alejandra is also 33 years younger than Richard, who became most recently became a father at the age of 70.
