Ellen DeGeneres loves to have talented kids on her talk show and she recently hosted a father-daughter duo named Nick and Sienna. The sweet pair covers songs of famous artists on their YouTube channel. Before Ellen had them sing, she interviewed them. When Ellen asked Sienna, “I heard you watch the show with your dad,” the adorable little girl sounded a bit vague when she responded, “….Yeah.” It was so vague that Ellen jokingly asked her, “Is that a lie?” Then, Ellen wanted to know, “What’s your favorite part of the show?” When Sienna responded without even a heartbeat of hesitation with “That you change lives,” Ellen knew the little girl was telling the truth. Because, of course, Ellen does change lives.
Ellen said, “Well, you’re four years old, is that right?” and the little girl responded that she was. Then Ellen asked her, “How long have you been singing,” to which this little angel replied, “A long time.” Ellen wanted clarification on this point, though, so she asked, “How long would that be, about, can you guess?” Sienna looked at Ellen like she was crazy and said, “I don’t know that!” The little girl’s dad, Nick, answered for her when Ellen asked him the same question. He said that they’ve been singing since Sienna was in the womb. He added that he’s been singing his whole life and that now they’re focusing on their video channel since March.
Apparently, they’ve had a ton of views for their videos, and some of the viewers include the artists they cover. Nick says that they started singing together as a way for him to connect with his daughter. When Sienna started responding, he said that he was “so grateful” and they started practicing. How do they decide which songs they’re going to cover? Nick said that when they both really like a song, they record it. When the duo covered “Señorita,” a hit song by Shane Mendes and Camila Cabello, and put it on their YouTube channel, Nick was shocked when Mendes retweeted the song. Nick says that he was in an elevator when he saw that his tweet had been retweeted. Then, the next day, Camila shared it on her Instagram.
Ellen asked the little girl if she wanted to be a singer when she grows up, and the adorable little girl replied, “I want to be a police officer and a singer, but I want to be a police officer so that I can help my dad.”
When they start singing, Sienna starts the song, but then this talented little girl amazingly starts beat-boxing along with her dad’s singing and guitar playing! Of course, they receive a standing ovation from the audience. How could they not? Ellen then surprises the little girl with a gigantic cart full of unicorn toys, a favorite of the little girl.
