If you have ever been robbed before, you realize how much of a violation it can be. We don’t think about it very often and we try to be careful but when somebody decides to steal something from us, it’s as if they are invading our personal lives in a way that we would never want to happen. Unfortunately, they often get away with it and it seems as if there is nothing that can stop them from invading our lives in this way.
Every once in awhile, however, you hear about a thief that gets exactly what they have coming to them. That is what happened in Ireland and fortunately, it was all caught on video. The thief was trying to break into a vehicle by throwing a brick at the window. It seems as if it is a simple thing to do, but it didn’t work out well for this man. Not only did the brick bounce off of the window, but it also hit the thief and knocked him out cold. I’m sure that all of us are laughing when we see what happened to this man.
Gerry Brady was the owner of a nearby pub and the car. When he came out to see what had happened, he found a man lying on the ground. The thief decided he would try a little blackmail, saying:
“When the Gardaí picked him up, he started claiming that I attacked him. He was still telling them that in the station when I came in with the footage of him getting knocked out by his own brick.”
“You should have heard the garda laughing when they saw the video. They were in stitches. Credit to them, they were straight out when we called and found the guy within minutes.”
I don’t know if all of us can learn a lesson from this but hopefully, at least one robber will have learned his lesson for life. It’s nice when the good guy wins one every once in a while.
