There seems to be a ton of talented late-night talk show hosts out there. But I must say, Jimmy Fallon, the man who took over the legendary Tonight Show, is by far one of the most fearless out there. Since the days of Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, the Tonight Show has had a certain mature format in which the host would mainly work behind his desk unless they were doing a monologue. And there was nothing wrong with that format, as it’s a tried and true formula for great entertainment. However, with Fallon, we often find that he’s willing to step from behind his desk and experiment with a bit more physical types of comedy.
One such experiment is his now-famous lip sync battles with various celebrities. During these battles, Fallon and his guest must each lip-sync two popular songs of their choosing. Neither participant would know what songs the other person chose, and they would take turns trying to outperform each other. Watching Fallon go all out to try and outperform his guests is simply one of the funniest things on TV. You can tell he’s really having fun out there, just like he is in this 2017 video featuring NBA legend Shaquille O’ Neal (a.k.a Shaq).

Watching Jimmy standing next to the NBA legend gives you a good idea of just how gigantic of a man Shaq is. Jimmy started things off, opening up with a quick shot across the bow with House of Pain’s “Jump Around.” However, Shaq came back with Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative,” even bringing in a lucky lady from the audience to dance with. But Shaq didn’t stop there! He also brought out Pitbull to join him during the performance. Fallon realized that he had to do something drastic, so he decided to do a one-man (woman) duet wearing a special half-man half-woman costume. He performed “Beauty and the Beast” by John Legend and Arianna Grande, singing as both Grande and Legend! However, Shaq turned the tables in the end by challenging Jimmy to sing a duet with him of Elton John and Kiki Dee’s “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” I think it’s safe to say that whenever you challenge a giant, the winner is going to be pretty obvious, especially after said giant spanks your bottom and lifts you like a child.
