It’s official. We are living in the age of reboots and sequels, whether you like it or not. But, when it comes to fans of the hit 90’s sitcom “Married with Children,” they are very likely to love recent news of a reboot. That’s because it will be animated and star all of the original cast! That’s right, Al Bundy and his family are coming back to TV![1]
The show’s set to star Ed O’Neill as Al Bundy, Katey Sagal as Peg Bundy, Christina Applegate as Kelly Bundy, and David Faustino as Bud Bundy. Now, while the project hasn’t officially gotten the green light, most insiders believe it’s a sure bet as the internet can’t stop talking about it!
According to Deadline[2], the show is currently being written by Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter.
In its animated form, the show is certain to attract newer viewers as well as older fans of the original.
Many believe the edgy comedy that inspired the concept of “Family Guy,” among other shows, was known for pushing the boundaries, so one can only imagine what’s in store for fans with this new all-animated version.
The show follows the antics of Al Bundy, a misogynistic women’s shoe salesman working in a local mall, his wife Peggy, who’s a housewife that believes in doing zero housework, and their kids Kelly and Bud, who, as you can imagine have quite a few issues themselves.
Fans have floated this idea for many years, and they are finally going to get it. News of the show had some mixed reactions online, but most are curious to see if the new show can capture some of the same magic.
