There is nothing like putting someone on the spot. I don’t know what it is, but it just amuses us to no end when we see someone squirming a bit when asked a funny question. Now, of course, there are levels to cringy questions that can make them less amusing and more insulting, but most folks have a good sense of when something is being asked in good humor. In high school, a group of girls in my class absolutely loved to talk about anything that would make me blush — how they knew I was blushing; I have no idea (my complexion doesn’t typically give off many clues).
And when it comes to putting folks on the spot, there are almost no funnier group of victims than children. Right or wrong, we adults just a kick out of watching kids answer awkward questions. Perhaps it’s because they are usually so honest? Or maybe it’s because they’re so expressive? I think it’s probably a combination of both that makes it so much fun to put them on the spot. And apparently, Jimmy Kimmel agrees, which is why he enjoys conducting hilariously awkward interviews with folks on the streets of Hollywood — especially kids. In this video, Kimmel sends his team out to ask kids who are walking with their parents a simple question: “Who Do You Love More…Mom or Dad?”
Now I must say, the first kid in this segment played his hand perfectly! He knew just how long to pretend to hesitate before pointing to his mom. Now, ladies, I know this seems sexist, but seriously, can you imagine he giving any other answer? Just imagine what his day or even his week would be like? Hey mom, can you take me to my friend’s house? Well, sweetie…come here *smiles and pats the sofa* let’s talk about that for a minute…
Watch as Kimmel make innocent children squirm for no good reason other for our sadistic amusement in the video below.
