I think we would all agree that comedians have a unique ability and it is one that we appreciate. When we see a funny comedian or listen to them perform, it makes us smile and may even make us laugh out loud. Those emotions are something that make us feel good on the inside and there is even some evidence that it may have some positive health effects for us as well. Perhaps it is true that laughter truly is the best medicine.
Some comedians may come and go rather quickly and they may disappear without ever really making a splash on the world scene. That isn’t the case, however, with Carol Burnett. Not only has she been performing comedy for decades, she has perhaps one of the funniest backgrounds of any comedian we have ever seen. Her variety show was on television for a number of years and during that time, she was probably responsible for more laughter than anyone else funny up until that time. Even watching that comedy today can make us laugh easily.
Carol Burnett is a very funny individual but when you put her together was someone else funny, it just goes to the next level easily. Some of the regulars on her show had that ability, and one of those was certainly Tim Conway. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen somebody as funny as Tim Conway and he loves making people laugh, including trying to get the cast of the Carol Burnett show to laugh as well.
In the following classic comedy skit, Tim Conway and Carol Burnett are playing the part of husband and wife. When the phone rings in the middle of the night, Carol is concerned that her husband may be giving some unknown person secret signals. She continues to get more paranoid until eventually, she appears to roll over and go to sleep. It was funny the entire way through but the ending is priceless.
