When was the last time you sang karaoke? Some people enjoy doing it because it gives them the opportunity to be in front of others and to show off a skill that they may possess. Then again, there are those of us who would never even think about getting up on stage in front of other people. For this kids group from the Philippines, however, it wasn’t karaoke that took them up on stage, it was to imitate a group of talented singers and they did it in an iconic way.
Many of us can think back to some of the boy bands that they have been popular during our day. They include everything from the Beatles to One Direction and almost anything in between. Those young men inspired many others to also pick up a singing career but there are also some boy bands that you may never have heard of before. A good example is Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids, the group of young men from the Philippines that also refer to themselves as the TNT Boys. They did something amazing and you are going to love it.
These young men have a lot of talent but their primary talent is singing. They haven’t yet started performing any original music but they are young enough that it can come in time. What they are doing at this point is covering songs that were already made famous by others.
One of the covers that was popular was Listen by Beyoncé. It was on a Filipino show, Gadang Gabi Vice and it was request from the host. The clip was posted online and it went viral and at that point, they were invited to the television show, Little Big Shots for a performance.
As they continue to perform and gain in popularity, they needed a new cover and it looks like they found the perfect opportunity.
Maurice, Barry and Robin Gibb formed the group known as the Bee Gees and they were very popular in the 1970s. They were actually a group from England that had been performing since the 1950s but it was during their performances in the 1970s and the comeback tour that really made them popular.
What do you think of when you think of the Bee Gees? Most people think about disco and they certainly did have a few disco hits. When you take a look at all of their songs, however, you realize that they were much more than disco.
The TNT Boys decided that they would cover a Bee Gees song but they also took things to the next level.
The song that they chose was Too Much Heaven and they decided to do more than just sing, they dressed up like the Bee Gees including the 70s disco suits and the loss of hair.
There is a popular show in the Philippines called Your Face Sounds Familiar. It allows people to dress up like singers as they cover their songs.
As it turns out, the TNT Boys chose wisely and they are gaining in popularity because of their performance. Just wait until you see it, you will love what they did.
