One of my favorite guilty pleasure games is Cards Against Humanity. There’s just nothing like having a couple of friends over to play this very adult fill-in-the-blank game, which is funny because, in school, I’ve always hated those kinds of questions on tests. I mean, with multiple-choice, at least you have a lucky chance to guess the right answer, but with fill in the blank, you either know the answer you don’t. Fortunately, I sat behind a very short, smart kid. Anyway, the fill in the blank concept once also made for a very interesting game show called the Match Game.
Back in the ’70s and early ’80s, the show featured fill in the blank statements that contestants had to match their fill-in-the-blank answers to those written down by one of six celebrity panelists. The questions were purposely designed to solicit the most outrageous and racy answers from the celebrity panel and, sometimes, even the contestants themselves. A fan favorite on the show was Richard Dawson, host of the Family Feud. Dawson had a reputation for being something of a playboy, as he enjoyed kissing female celebrities and even contestants on his show on the lips (something that definitely wouldn’t fly on today’s TV shows). In this video, host Gene Rayburn makes the recites the following statement, “The Big Bad Wolf said, ‘I just came from a house biggest BLANKS I ever saw.”
While most of us would have expected Dawson to drop the most outrageous answer, the one that threw the show into chaos actually came from a very brazen female contestant!
It turns out, all but one of the celebrity panelists were also thinking in the gutter! See which one it was in the hilarious video below.
