If there’s one thing that all of us probably recognize about style, it’s the fact that things tend to change from one year to the next. In fact, if you were to go into a coma and wake up a decade later, you would find that everything has changed drastically. This can be seen in everything from the way the people talk to the clothes that they wear but perhaps the most noticeable is in the hairstyle.
Hairstyles come and hairstyles go and sometimes, they may even come back in style if enough time goes by. Then again, if you look back at the 1980s, you can’t help but notice that there were some huge hairdos that were popping up on the scene. They were more than just big hair, they were an absolute nightmare that looked as if it was leaping off of the head of those who were wearing it. All you have to do is look back at some of the shows from the 80s or perhaps a yearbook picture or two and you will see that it is worthy of cringing.
Why was this hairstyle so popular in the 80s? Some people say it has to do with consumerism but other people say it just has to do with what was popular during the day. You had hair bands and it seemed as if everybody was going in that direction. Regardless of why it happened, it’s nice to look back and here are some of our favorites.
