Lady Gaga Performs Beautiful Rendition of ‘Perfect Illusion’ Live

Lady Gaga is nearly untouchable when it comes to success in the music entertainment industry. With record sales and as one of the best-selling music artists in the world, she has broken several Guinness world records, won 11 Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and an Academy Award. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga has made a reputation for being able to constantly reinvent herself throughout her career. Interestingly, when she first signed with a record label, she was dropped in her first year. However, she began to reinvent herself and let nothing stop her. Gaga grew up listening to artists like the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Blondie, and more.

Her style includes frequent costume changes and provocative visuals. Her videos are so detailed that they’re often described as a sort of short film. The themes of her music videos tend to revolve around power, violence, and sex, but she calls herself a “little bit of a feminist” and says she’s all about “sexually empowering women.” When it comes to her elaborate shows, Lady Gaga describes herself as a perfectionist and her performances are innovative and highly entertaining. Her style is so influential that the University of South Carolina offers a course titled “Lady Gaga and the Sociology of the Fame,” whose objective is to unravel “some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame of Lady Gaga.”

The song “Perfect Illusion” was written and recorded by Lady Gaga with assistance from Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker, and BloodPop. It’s described as a dance-rock and pop song and delves on Lady gaga’s “highest of highs and lowest of lows” in relationships. Essentially, the song is meant to be a commentary on social media. Lady Gaga famously wrote the lyrics to “Perfect Illusion” using her Underwood typewriters. The finished product has been compared to the music of Bruce Springsteen and the song did well in Eastern European countries.

In the video below, Gaga wears dark glasses and wears a feminine-looking pink hat with a ribbon. The contrast with her black jacket is sharp and probably deliberate to deliver the impression that fits the song.
