Ed Sheeran Performs ‘Perfect Symphony’ With Legendary Andrea Bocelli Live in Concert

Ed Sheeran is a songwriter, singer, record producer, and actor. In his career so far, he has won five BRIT Awards, four Grammy Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards. He has also been appointed the honor of a Member of the Order of the British Empire, presented to him by none other than Prince Charles for “services to music and charity.” As if his accolades aren’t enough, this talented young man will also likely be a billionaire before he turns 30. Ed Sheeran is on track to be one of the most prominent and most successful musicians of his generation, if not all time. With all of this under his belt, you’d imagine that he’s not easily impressed. However, he’s just like any of us average folks in that he’s humbled in the presence of greatness.

Andrea Bocelli is a living legend. A blind Italian songwriter, record producer, and opera singer, Bocelli is one of the most respected musicians alive today. As for his voice, the iconic diva Celine Dion once said, “If God had a singing voice, he must sound like Andrea Bocelli.” Bocelli has recorded a total of 15 studio albums that include both pop music and classical music. He has also recorded three greatest hits albums, nine complete operas, and he’s sold more than 90 million records worldwide. Bocelli has done something few classical performers have ever been able to do: brought classical music to the top of multiple international pop charts.

When he was performing at Wembley Stadium, Ed Sheeran had a special surprise for his adoring audience. When he says, “Please welcome to the stage, Andrea Bocelli,” the crowd goes absolutely insane. Sheeran stars strumming his guitar and says, “This is the first time we’ve played this, and what a place to play it.” The song they’re going to perform is the beautiful ballad “Perfect Symphony.” Then Ed starts singing in his perfect voice that just makes everyone melt, and he’s so incredible. When Bocelli starts his part, it’s exquisite. When this unlikely duo is done singing, the crowd goes wild. Ed ends it with, “Well, that doesn’t happen every day.”
