In life, most of us give up on things before we even try. The great motivational coach Les Brown once said, “It is better to aim too high and miss than to aim to low and hit.” Succeeding in safer situations makes folks crave the safety and certainty of mediocrity. Speaking from experience, I was scared to death of leaving my career working in a very safe, and decent-paying office job to start a new career as a full-time online writer. I was paying my bills on time and had a little extra money to play with, but I was feeling burned out and bored. Then, my now-wife introduced me to the world of writing.
Now, at first, I was intimidated, thinking that only folks who had gone to school for writing could earn a living writing. But, as I started and kept writing, I soon realized that I had a passion for expressing myself by telling different stories. It wasn’t until I was fired from that job that I decided it was time to take the plunge and go for it. A lot of folks are like me. Circumstances in life often open doors for new opportunities; dramatic events can be the catalyst of change we need to pursue a new path. For 84-year-old Margaret, she was competing on the legendary nationally televised game show “The Price Right,” playing a game she had never played before — Golf.

The pressure was on; she had the opportunity to walk away with a brand new 16,000 car. All she had to do was something that even many professional golfers struggle with — make a Hole-in-One. After the host, Drew Carrey showed her how to play; she was given a practice shot and missed. However, when she tried again on her next shot, Margeret rose to the occasion and took home her brand new car!
