Video Of Flamingos Feeding Underwater Has Everybody In A Trance

Animals come in all shapes and sizes and I think we would all admit that they make our world a much more interesting place to live. Most of us tend to focus on the animals that are closest to us, such as the pet in our home or perhaps the squirrel that is in our backyard. In reality, however, there are thousands of different types of animals that exist in all parts of the world and many of them we would never have the opportunity to see. Thankfully, however, the Internet provides us with that opportunity and the following video is no exception.

If you ever had a chance to see flamingos before, you realize that they are a very graceful and beautiful bird. Most of us know them because of the pink color but there is much more that goes on than meets the eye. That is why this video is such an interesting thing to watch. It is of flamingos that live at the San Diego zoo and most people tend to watch them from the surface. In reality, however, something interesting is going on underneath the surface and you really have to see it to believe it. Fortunately, we have a video that allows you to see it.

In the video below, you get to watch a pink flamingo with very long legs in the water. They are doing some swimming, however, they are feeding and it is something that most people have never had the opportunity to see. It is sure to be a fascinating addition to what you know about these beautiful birds.

In the video, you are actually seeing them filtering the edible items from water and mud. They take in the water and mud at the front of the bill and then pump it out through the sides. They have brinyplates called lamellae, which are the little filters that help to trap shrimp and other creatures that keep the flamingos nourished.
