You may have seen me mention a time or two (or 98 times) that my wife and I do cat and kitten rescue. We have more cats than most people, and over the years, we’ve seen all sorts of cats. However, there is a cat who is an Instagram star and he is one of the most unusual cats I’ve ever seen in all my years of being a crazy cat man. The cat’s name is Valkyrie and she lives with her human mom, a Russian woman named Tatiana Rastorgueva. Valkyrie is a Maine Coon cat, and these cats are unusual enough in their own right.
However, Valkyrie has a very unique face that looks almost like a human face. Valkyrie was born and raised in Moscow’s Catsvill County cat sanctuary. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Tatiana explained that she has spent the last 16 years breeding these jumbo-sized cats, and she had a specific goal of creating features that she describes as “definite.” She has been working on this dream for a long time and she feels that she’s close to getting her goal completed. She wants to show an even “cooler” type of Maine Coon cat to the world, she says. These cats are super smart, and that’s another thing that sets them apart.
Cats are famously hard to train, but Maine Coon cats are easier to train than some other breeds. I’m not sure exactly what Maine Coon cats can be trained to do, but if you’re looking for a cat you can train, it seems that going with this breed is a good idea. All of our cats are domestic shorthairs because these are the cats that need rescuing. As for Valkyrie, she has huge eyes, a cute button nose, and a strikingly human-looking face.
Maine Coon cats have been around for centuries and people love not just their size, but also their beautiful long fur and tufted ears.
