If there is one thing that we have learned from our time on the Internet, it’s the fact that everybody has something special and sometimes, they are willing to share it with the world. That happened recently with a French fashion photographer from Paris, Vincent Flouret. He was working hard on a project that featured his six-year-old dog and when he released the pictures to the world, they went viral in a heartbeat.
It began when Vincent started doing photo shoots with his pet. He had volunteered with City Shelters in Los Angeles and was busy making studio portraits of dogs. He wanted those dogs to get adopted and realized that glamour shots of canines would go a long way in helping them to appear beautiful to potential forever owners. His aim was to bring out the glamour of the shelter dogs in the same way that he brought it out with high fashion models.
When he transferred his attention to his own dog, he realized that he had something special. “Everything is like a game for him so yes, for example, if he needs a hat for a picture, I buy it weeks before and we play with it like if it’s one of his pet toys. And so, it’s ‘normal’ and fun for him when we shoot for real weeks later.”
Madonna was the target of his creativity and he has taken some fantastic pictures in a project named ‘Maxdonna’. He realizes that the pictures she took were iconic and he wants his dog to have some iconic photos as well. He says: “These pictures, between the shoots, the homemade costumes, the training took me 8 months to do. I am a big fan of Madonna, these pictures I’m doing with Max are tributes to artists that I love and respect. It’s a break between my commercial work, that is bringing me to the simple pleasure of pure creation, love, and happiness.”
There is a lot to love about this project but perhaps something that should not be overlooked is the fact that it benefits charity. Money collected from the sold prints of Maxdonna will be donated to Madonna’s charity, Raising Malawi. That charity has the goal of improving the lives of children in Malawi. Incidentally, Madonna has seen his work and even posted the ‘Like a Virgin’ on her Instagram. Well done, Vincent.
