The Rusty Spotted Cat Is The Smallest Wild Cat In The World

If you happen to have a feline in your family, you already realize that they can make a very interesting addition to your home. For those who happen to bring a cat to the home when they are still a kitten, there is something extra that is brought to the mix. We absolutely love watching the little feline exploring the world around them and we can’t help but feel that the little kitten is as adorable as something can possibly be. Eventually, the cat grows up and it seems as if they are only a kitten for a few, fleeting weeks. That isn’t the case with every feline out there.

The BBC One series, known as ‘Big Cats’ is proving that not every feline grows up to become a large cat. That is not only true when it comes to the felines in our home, it is the case when it comes to felines that live in the wild. If you’ve never heard of the rusty-spotted cat before, don’t feel too bad. Most people haven’t heard of them and that is likely because they tend to fly under the radar. They are found in Sri Lanka, but once you see them for yourself in the video, you will absolutely fall in love with these little cats from the Sri Lankan forest.

When you see the rusty-spotted cat traveling through the forest in the video, you will probably feel as if you are looking at a tiny kitten. In reality, however, the rusty-spotted cat is very small, even when they are fully grown. They are considered to be one of the world’s smallest cats and full-grown, they weigh between 2 and 3.5 pounds!

The rusty-spotted cat is amazing to see. They are curious, and quite brave, considering their size. Their conservation status is near threatened, so it is important for them to share the spotlight so that more people know about these little felines before the population drops any further.
