A stray kitten befriends a puppy he met around the neighborhood, and now he keeps coming back to visit his new best friend. Delfina Plaja and her husband, Oliver Tops, from Italy recently adopted Taco the pup into their family last year to help potty train him, Delfina decided to spend a lot of time outside with her new furry baby.
One day, while she was out with Taco, Delfina noticed a tabby kitten under a car in the ally near her building. When the kitten and Taco locked eyes, the kitty slowly emerged from under the car and made his way straight to the pup.
Despite being a bit shy around people, the kitten walked right up to the pup and just wanted to play. He rubbed his face on his new canine friend and wrapped his tail around him like the most adorable hug ever!
After asking around, Delfina discovered that the kitten was homeless, living alone in an open garage and was being fed by one of her neighbors.
“No one had any idea where he had come from or why he was alone without a mother or siblings.”
She brought the kitten some food and treats in hopes that she could gain the cat’s trust. Whenever she was out with Taco, the kitten would always come to play with him. Soon, the tabby would show up in front of their building, waiting for Taco to come and play.
“He was there every time we went out, and Taco would whine by the door, wanting to go out and play with his friend,” Delfina told Love Meow.
It was apparent that the kitten had taken a liking to Taco, and now he needed a safe home. When he came back one day, soaked in rainwater, Delfina and her husband knew it was time to bring the kitty in.
At first, the tabby was scared and kept trying to find a place to hide, but once he realized Taco was with him and that he was perfectly safe, he began to calm down and even started to purr.
“He didn’t stop purring for two days straight,” Delfina told Love Meow.

“As soon as we saw them cuddling together to sleep, there was no way we could separate them. We officially adopted the kitten and named him Tequila.”
The two best friends were now growing up and traveling together. Tequila followed Taco everywhere he went and wouldn’t let the pup out of his sight.
“They cuddle and play just like two brothers would, running after each other, rolling around and generally creating mayhem around the house,” Delfina told Love Meow.
“Taco is outgoing and super sociable, making friends everywhere (just like his artist dad). Tequila is brave but introverted (just like his mom).”
Together, these two just complete each other.
While the couple didn’t plan on adopting another pet, when little Tequila showed up one day and befriended Taco, they knew their pup had found a brother for life.
