Life presents us with many opportunities to have a smile on our face. Sometimes, we need to look for those opportunities in order to find them and at other times, they are easy to see. If you happen to be someone who has a cat in your life, you realize that there are plenty of reasons for you to smile. Not only are they an amazing companion, it is comforting to know that you have an animal that loves you more than you could possibly ever love them. It’s something that we would never want to live without.
Although we have a love for felines, not everybody has that same disposition. At times, we may even hear about a cat that was left on the streets to fend for themselves. It sometimes turns out for the best, and that is what happened with this shy little kitten. Although he was only six weeks old, he was found on the streets of LA all by himself. After being taken to a shelter they recognized that he needed assistance so they called a rescue group. He was in bad shape with an upper respiratory infection that was fairly severe.

Best Friends Animal Society was a group called to help care for this beautiful little kitten and they did a good job at helping him with his health. His name was Finn and although he was a little shy at first, they knew that he shouldn’t be alone.
One of the volunteers from that rescue group, Aly W stepped forward to offer assistance. She took Finn home and introduced him to a new friend.

Her cat Zephyr, that they call “Z” loves when she brings foster kittens home. “He is my foster fail kitty and has been with me since he was five weeks old,” Aly told Love Meow.
“He has a big heart and lots of patience for tiny kittens.”

Finn was shy when he came to the house and stayed in his crate. He just didn’t have the courage to go out and explore. When Z found out about the new kitten in the home, he poked his head in the crate and said hello.
They gave each other a few nose kisses and Finn started to loosen up. Before long, he was out exploring the home with his new friend.

It really did a lot of good for Finn to have a confident friend. He looked up to his new buddy and followed him all around the house.
“Within a week, Z helped him come out of his shell.”

Z taught Finn how to develop his skills as a feline. Finn would stand back and watch everything that Z did and then imitate the action.
Even though Z was not giving milk, she still allowed the kitten to comfort nurse.

You can see them in this video:
Z climbed up on a cat tree and Finn followed.
After they finish playing, they curl up for a good cuddle.

“He found comfort in Z’s chubby belly and just started purring,” Aly said.
Finn was finally getting all of the cuddles he deserved.

Finn stayed with Z for 6 weeks and really loved to cuddle. That is when they knew that Finn was ready to move to a forever home.

A new family came to visit Finn a few days before Christmas and fell in love. “Finn fell asleep in his new dad’s lap when they came to see him. It was meant to be.”
The once shy kitten was now happy and confident. He loves his new family and he still loves to cuddle.

“His mom and dad love him dearly, and he has a new older brother (also a rescued cat). They instantly bonded,” Aly told Love Meow.
Z is satisfied with his accomplishment and is moving on to helping other foster kittens
