She Was Forced To Give Up her Best Friend When Senior Care Said No To Dogs

If we have a dog in our life, we are already well aware of exactly what they mean to us. It just seems as if they come into our home and immediately, they come into our heart. We would do anything for our furry friends and we want to make sure that they have the best of everything that they can possibly have. That is the case for anybody with a dog, including this 92-year-old woman.

Unfortunately, this 92-year-old was moved into an assisted living facility and they wouldn’t allow her to bring her dog with her. It was a senior dog and she was heartbroken when she had to take it to a shelter. She was saying goodbye to her best friend right after she had a surgical procedure and went into the facility. The Chihuahua mix, Sir Blacky, ended up in the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California.

Fortunately, the story ends on a positive note.

The animal shelter volunteers posted what was going on in the life of this woman and her dog. It went viral and was shared more than 20,000 times.

Sir Blacky was only in the shelter for one night and there were many people who were standing in line to adopt him.

A woman by the name of Donna Ortiz came forward to adopt the senior dog. She doesn’t really consider his new home to be a forever home, she plans on reuniting this dog with his former owner.

“It sounds like she’s just going to the nursing home to rehabilitate,” Ortiz says. “My thing would be, if it’s possible, to reunite her with him.”

I always love a happy ending, especially where a dog is involved!
