Our hearts truly go out to any animal that is struggling. We want the best for them, and sometimes we will even go out of our way to ensure they get it.
The love of pets is what was seen very clearly when a dog was seen at a campsite in Evans Creek, Washington state. They looked at the dog and could tell he was malnourished but when they tried to approach him, he would get aggressive.
Amanda is somebody who loves dogs very much and when she got to hear about the situation, she decided to take action. She knew that the wild dog they called Bear would not last long.
Amanda took her friend Dylan along and they decided that the dog would be saved and taken to an animal hospital. They tried a number of different ways to get him to come to them, including using treats, but he was too suspicious to approach.
That is when Amanda decided she would do something different.
Amanda got into the fetal position and laid along the road. Bear watched on from a distance and they wondered what would happen. Before long, however, he started to wander over and stood by Amanda and sniffed her for 20 minutes before walking away.
Amanda was persistent and an hour later, he was back and sitting beside her. Two hours later, she had his trust and he knew that she would not harm him. He followed her when she went to the car and they drove off to the veterinarian.
This was a dog that was in desperate need of help. Thanks to animal lovers who refused to give up, he was now getting it.
They did try to find the owner using the Animal Welfare Organization Lost and Found Pets in Washington but it did not work. After a family said they would be willing to adopt him, he found his forever home.
