Pensioner Thinks He Is Going Mad, Sets Up Trail Cam And Catches Mouse Cleaning His Shed

It doesn’t matter who we are, there are going to be times when we question everything we know. This is not only true about the basics of life, but it is sometimes also true about our own sanity. That is what a 72-year-old man in the UK, Stephen Mckears was doing when he started paying attention to what was going on in his shed. When he would go in the next day, things seemed to have been moved overnight.

It wasn’t enough that they were being moved, they were not being moved at random. The clips and screws that may have been scattered across his tabletop were now neatly packed away, almost as if they were taunting him for leaving them out in the first place. It was the strangest thing and he just couldn’t figure out what was making the changes.

My. Mckears is not one to back down from a mystery so he emptied out the tub and scattered things around on the counter. When he went in the next day, his fears were confirmed because everything was back in place.

That is where his neighbor, Rodney Holbrook came in. He got some help from that man and set up a trail camera to find out what was going on. As it turns out, Mr. Holbook loves taking pictures of wildlife so he had the equipment. When they looked at the footage, they were shocked at what they saw. It was a mouse that was moving objects around to keep his home clean.

“I’ve been calling him Brexit Mouse because he’s been stockpiling for Brexit,” Mr. Mckears said.

“The heaviest thing was the plastic attachment at the end of a hosepipe – and the chain of an electric drill. I didn’t know what it was at first. The kids were saying it was a ghost.”

“One day I emptied the tub out and spread the contents on the side – and the next day they were all back in again. I thought I was going mad.”

Mr. Holbrook was shocked at what he was doing. “I’ve been calling him Metal Mickey but some people have been saying he’s just mouse proud,” he joked.

“I was quite amazed to see it – it is an amazing mouse.”

“Steve asked if he could use my trail camera to film whatever it was that was moving the objects in his shed.”

“The mouse was chucking things into the box – we thought it was a ghost or something at first. I thought I have to see this for myself.”

The mouse seems to get busy around midnight and works till 2:30 in the morning. He does the cleaning every night and has done it for a month.

“It was doing it for about two hours that night – he must have had to go for a sleep after it,” Mr. Mckears said.

“I’ve seen a mouse moving objects to make a nest but never metal objects. It’s quite amazing.”

“It’s still busy doing it now.”
