Pelican Does His Best To Swallow A Baby Capybara Whole

If you are visiting the beach in a warm-weather climate, you are likely to see a wave of birds that is flying just over the surface of the water. Those birds are pelicans, and they have many unique abilities that make them a very special bird. Not only are they beautiful to watch as they skim over the surface of the water, but those large birds are also capable of doing a little bit of damage. It has to do with what most people are familiar with when it comes to pelicans, the throat pouch that allows them to scoop up fish and even other birds and swallow them whole. It’s interesting to watch.

Perhaps what isn’t as interesting is attempting to watch a pelican swallow something that is really a matter of them biting off more than they can chew. Maybe we’ve seen videos of this happening at some time in the past, but you probably never seen a video quite like this. After all, it shows a pelican at a wildlife preserve standing alongside some capybara and the pelican doesn’t necessarily have the best intentions. At first, it may look a little bit amusing but suddenly you come to the understanding that the pelican is actually trying to swallow a baby capybara!

Perhaps one of the more interesting things about this video is the fact that pelicans are not often found in the same areas as capybaras. They may be in the same area of the world, but pelicans are often found above the water and capybaras love swimming in the water. That isn’t even to mention the fact that capybaras are some rather docile animals.

Were not quite sure what got into the mind of this pelican, but it is interesting how he just didn’t want to give up. Fortunately, he wasn’t able to finish off the project but it’s a lot of fun to watch it in action.
