Dumbfounded Owner Installs Cat Door and Watches Cat Instantly Hack It

As I’ve mentioned in other articles, my wife and I do cat and kitten rescue. One thing we’ve learned over the years is that when it comes to cats, it’s best to not have a lot of expectations. While a dog can be trained to perform any number of tasks and tricks, you can forget about that with cats. Cats have a mind of their own and they’re not about to cater to the whims of peasants like all of us humans. Another thing we’ve learned about cats is that they’re always going to seek out the alternative options. Always.

Cats like creative challenges, believe it or not, and if there’s an easy way to get where they want to go, they’re likely to find a more complicated route that makes no sense. It’s almost like they’re messing with us in a way. While it’s entertaining, it definitely frustrates humans who like to have some control over what goes on in their homes. As humans, we are biologically geared to try to control our environment but cats aren’t about to cooperate with our goals. For example, if you want your cats to stay out of one room or area of your house, good luck with that.

As an example, my wife and I have an office at one end of our house and we don’t like all of our cats to be back here. At first, we put a baby gate at the entry to the area, but they immediately jumped over that. So then I started putting up barriers and before I knew it, I had about a dozen backscratchers taped to the gate trying to keep the cats out. Even then, they could get in. Finally, I figured out something that can keep most of them out, but it took a while.

In the video below, you will see a man who had the best intentions in trying to give his beloved cat access to the great outdoors. Well, the cat didn’t really need his help, thank you very much. Enjoy this hilarious video.
