There are two different types of dogs, some that enjoy being outside and others that would rather stay inside. If you happen to have a dog that enjoys getting out into some fresh air and getting some exercise, you probably realize that they like to push the limits when it comes to their boundaries. Some dogs will stay by your side and would never think about running away but the majority of them will take off when they have the opportunity to do so. In fact, you may even find that you are guarding them inside of the home so that they don’t run out the door as soon as it is opened.
If you have a dog that enjoys being outside, you may have to put them on a leash and take them for a walk around the neighborhood or perhaps take them to a local dog park. One way for you to get around this issue is to have a fence installed in your backyard. It allows you to simply open the door and let them run around outside to their heart’s content. It is a convenience that would make your life easier and makes their life a little bit happier.
One man who has his own YouTube channel decided that his dog deserved a nice, penned in area in the backyard. His dog, Stella was rescued by her owner after being found in a dumpster. He knew that she loved to run and jump so he built her a place where she could do it as much as she wanted.
He knew that Stella was a jumper so he tried to figure out how high he needed to make the fence so that she couldn’t get over it. He set up the fence, spending all day doing it and then explained how he was able to determine how high to make the fence: “had Stella jump a baby gate inside and when she stopped jumping it I added 6” (inches).”
After building the fence, he took a moment to admire it and to take a video of his hard work. You can even hear him in the background saying: “Yep, just completed fixing this fence. Pretty proud of it I’d have to say. Trying to keep Stella in the yard.” Suddenly, Stella comes running from the left side of the camera and when she gets to be under the fence, she jumps over top of it without even breaking a sweat. The man simply says “dammit’ which seems to be the ideal reaction for a moment that all of us are glad he caught on video.
If you’re wondering what happened, the fence didn’t go to waste. He repurposed the wood to make a tree house with a zip line for his grandson. As you watch the video below, you will see how everything doesn’t always turn out as you hope. That may be true but it sure to give you a laugh:
