Groomer Puts Out Hilarious Poster When Too Many Clients Ask Why She Charges More Than A Hairdresser

When most people think about those who groom pets, they think that they are really only doing it for a little bit of extra money. Others may look at pet grooming as being more of a luxury item for those who have a lot of money to throw around. Neither is actually true. Pet groomers offer a service that people not only appreciate, they really need if they want to take care of their pets properly. It’s important to care for the health of the pet and a groomer is a big part of it.

Unfortunately, many people feel that groomers are out of line when it comes to charging the prices that they charge. That is where this hilarious sign comes in. A pet groomer was frustrated with all the strange questions about why she was charging money for what she was doing. Many people were complaining that they paid less at a hairdresser and she was fed up with it. She put together a list and both pet owners and pet groomers everywhere are loving it.

10: Your hairdresser doesn’t wash and clean your rear end.

Pet grooming involves a full shampoo of the entire body, including the derrière. This would be strange if your hairdresser were trying to give you the same service.

9. You don’t go eight weeks without washing or brushing your hair.

Let’s face it, many people are going to take their dog to the groomer when they are nothing short of nasty. We may wash our hair every day but our dog goes weeks before you get the treatment.

8. Your hairdresser doesn’t give you a sanitary trim.

Your hairdresser is probably working on what is on top of your head and they don’t go any further. The same can’t be said with the groomer.

7. Your hairdresser doesn’t clean your ears.

They have the tools that allow them to do so. Quite honestly, I wouldn’t want my hairdresser cleaning my ears.

6. Your hairdresser doesn’t remove the boogers from your eyes.

At best, they will probably tell us that we have something in our eyes but then again, they would probably just talk to the next person about it.

5. You sit still for your hairdresser.

How much would your hairdresser charge you if you provided them with a moving target? We tend to sit still but our dogs probably wiggle the entire time.

4. Your haircut doesn’t include a manicure or pedicure.

How much extra do you pay for a manicure and pedicure?

3. Your hairdresser only washes and cuts the hair on your head.

We agree that our groomer goes above and beyond when it comes to getting in all of the nooks and crannies.

2. You don’t bite or scratch your hairdresser.

This isn’t something that our hairdresser needs to be concerned about. But the groomer needs to worry about it frequently. In fact, it is one of the bigger hazards of the job.

1. The likelihood of you pooping on your hairdresser is pretty slim.

This one goes without saying but then again, how many groomers have experienced it? It is well worth thinking about.

Copenhagen-based groomer Laura Gedgaudaite enjoys grooming pets but it is not all fun and games.

“People often believe I spend most of my day cuddling with fluffy puppies, but that’s not true,” she said. “Some dog breeds have naturally long hair that grows non-stop, so it’s necessary to shampoo, brush, cut and trim their coats. The owners should brush these long-haired dogs daily, but they don’t always do that!”

“It takes a lot of energy to handle a dog if it’s not calm, especially if it’s a larger breed. But if they are aggressive or bite, I usually choose not to groom them and they have to go home. You have to be a strong person mentally to do this job, because the dogs can feel if you are afraid or angry, they feel the adrenaline in your body and respond to it. So eventually, you learn how to trust yourself more.”

“I’m happiest when I do a nice job making them look super cute clean and fresh again. And if they are matted, it’s gratifying to help them be free of that, because it irritates their poor skin. And, of course, I enjoy the owners’ reaction when they see their dog all trimmed and beautiful, and when they appreciate the job I do.”

People had a lot to say about this list:
