Giant Ball Of Fur Rescued From The Streets Has Remarkable Reaction To His New Snowy Home

The vast majority of people who have a pet in their life could never imagine a time when they would not be with them. Unfortunately, however, there are some people who will abandon their pet, even if they have had them for many years. You may have heard about this happening before or perhaps you have even seen it in action when a stray is found in your local area. It can be devastating for the animal and if they are not cared for properly, it can go from bad to worse.

A similar situation happened in Los Angeles when an abandoned dog was roaming the streets and trying very hard to survive. It was a beautiful, black Newfoundland and when he was found by his rescuers, he was so worn out that he could barely even move. The animal rescue group that took care of him was Hope for Paws and they knew that they had to do something from the moment that they heard he was out there. He was down on a street corner, barely moving when Loreta Frankonyte approached him cautiously.

Loreta didn’t come at him with empty hands. She had a cheeseburger with her and he wasn’t about to say no to it. He permitted her to feed small bites to him but when the leash was slipped over his neck, he ended up panicking.

It took a little while before he was accustomed to a leash but eventually, he began eating out of her hand again. The Newfoundland had a friend by his side but by the time the rescuers had arrived, it had taken off. Loreta and her new helper gathered up the Newfoundland and put him in the back seat.

They decided to name the dog Everest and after taking him back to the facility they worked hard to save him in the hopes that he could be adopted. He got a nice, warm shower and just sat there in the wash basin and allowed the water to cascade over him. He was exhausted and before long, he was sleeping soundly on the bed next to Loreta.

It wasn’t difficult to figure out that at one time, Everest had been a pet. He didn’t have a problem interacting with adults or children and when people were petting him, he was perfectly still.

It was after they had cleaned up Everest that Hope for Paws received an adoption request to send him to a forever home. Loretta and another volunteer boarded a plane with Everest and flew 2 1/2 hours from LA to Oregon.

Everest was excited as they walked down the airplane ramp. They got in a rented car and drove out through the surrounding countryside to meet his new family. They also wanted to learn what his new mission would be in life.

When he met his new family, he found out that they also had two other dogs, Bonnie and Clyde. He was running through the snow, frolicking as if he had lived in it all of his life. It took them a bit by surprise but he was absolutely loving it.

Everest was happy with his new family and it seemed as if he understood why he was sent there. As it turns out, the surprises weren’t over for this dog.
