I’m sure that you have heard it said that dogs are ‘man’s best friend’. If you have ever had a dog as part of your family, you recognize that they are also part of your heart. They are called a best friend but in reality, they are much, much more. They provide unconditional love and, regardless of what you are able to give back, they will always give you more than they receive.
Perhaps something that many people appreciate about dogs is the fact that they will never get tired of seeing you. I know from personal experience that I have gotten up, walked out to the mailbox and when I came back in, it was as if my dog hadn’t seen me in a year! That was the experience of this man who had formed a very special bond with his German Shepherd, Freyja. He was a soldier and had been away for months without being able to see her.
When the two of these individuals were finally reunited, the excitement shown by the German Shepherd was absolutely phenomenal. They may have been a part for months but she wasn’t about to let one moment go by from that point forward without being by his side.
The camera shows the soldier sitting on the couch with his arms stretched out. As you can imagine, he was happy to be home but we are happy that the video is rolling. When the door opens, you hear feet scurrying across the floor and before you know it, Freyja jumps into the scene. When the soldier whistles, she is up on the couch and cuddling faster than you can imagine.
In dog years, nine months is a long time to pass by. Let’s face it, it’s a long time for anyone! When you see the excitement that Freyja shows, you will know that they are absolutely in love with each other. The sweet sound of her cries only makes it much better.
