You don’t very often hear about someone keeping a pet fox as a pet. It’s just not that common. However, have you ever heard of a fox that laughs like a human? Well, prepare yourself, because you’re about to see a laughing fox and it’s just as cute and adorable as you would imagine. The fox’s name is Finnegan and when his caretaker rubs his neck or scratches his belly, Finnegan laughs with a hilarious “hehehe.” Finnegan is cared for by an organization called Save a Fox, which rescues these gorgeous creatures from situations like fur farms and other horrifying situations.
The organization says that its goal is to adopt the foxes they rescue, and those who don’t get adopted are found sponsors. However, many of the foxes are more wild (feral) and the organization doesn’t adopt the out. The organization isn’t about profit of any sort. They aim to educate folks on how foxes suffer because of the atrocious fur trade. They don’t breed the foxes. They rescue them to handle any health issues, and also to spay and neuter them before they find them a good home. To do this, they have a four step process that begins with preparing for fox puppies by having all of the right supplies on hand.
This includes feeding syringes, formula, blankets, and nipples. They also need to have veterinary appointments and large spaces for older foxes. They rescue them from different situations, and many of the foxes they rescue are injured, sick, and orphaned because their parents were in fox fur farms. Some of the foxes they get are the ones that the fur farmer believe wouldn’t make it and the farmers have surrendered the poor little things. They also take in former foxes that used to be someone’s pet.
