Dalmatian Gives Birth And Only Then Did The Vet Realize His Huge Mistake

Those of us who love dogs and feel as if we know at least a little bit about dogs may be able to recognize some of the more popular dog breeds. There is one particular breed, however, that almost anybody can recognize from the time they are a little child. I’m talking about Dalmatians and regardless of whether it is thinking about them riding on a fire truck or thinking about the Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians, it is sure to invoke an image of a little black and white spotted dog in your mind.

Miley is a Dalmatian mother and she was prepared to give birth to three baby puppies. Her veterinarian in Australia had seen her on a regular basis and he gave that prediction that she would have three puppies and that she was doing very well. As it turns out, they were about to get a surprise that nobody should have expected.

As it turns out, Miley did give birth to three puppies but she didn’t stop there. By the time she was finished, she had delivered six times as many puppies as was expected, 18 in total!

Cecilia Langton-Bunkergot is Miley’s guardian and she had a feeling that she may have been expecting a few more than three puppies. Her belly was absolutely massive when she was going into labor but the vet only showed three identical puppies inside of the womb during the scan. We would say that the vet may need to invest in a better scanning machine or perhaps should get his eyes checked.

All in all, there were 12 girls and six boys that were delivered successfully. It took 13 hours of labor but all of the puppies are healthy and happy. There are so many to nurse that Miley can’t even handle all them so Cecilia and her husband are on nursing duty 24 hours a day. They keep a supply of warm milk on hand for that purpose.

She may not have 101 Dalmatians but she tied the world record for the most Dalmatian puppies that were ever born in one litter. Even Perdita and Pongo from the movie only had 15 Dalmatian puppies. Miley topped it and showed that sometimes, you just don’t know what is coming your way.
