Most of us have had those awkward Christmas family pictures in which there was at least one family member who looked like they were about ready to snap. For Jasmine, who runs the site Snowdog Guru, and is the proud owner of a husky pup named Anuko, who has a rather unique look. Let’s just say to make her dog look happy in any picture is a pretty tall order. That’s because Anuko always seems to have a severe expression on his face. Recently, this doggy mom was kind enough to share a couple of photos on her Instagram of Anuko decked out in a colorful Christmas scarf along and also some with him wearing a pair of adorable reindeer antlers.
But, because of the pup’s unique fur markings and intense-looking eyes, he always appears to be unamused by everything going on around him. “I think his grumpy look makes people who love Christmas laugh and people who despise Christmas relate,” Jasmine told LittleThings. In every picture, it looks like Anuko isn’t thinking delightful thoughts at the moment. But, while this pup may seem like a big Grinch on the outside, he’s really a good dog, says Jasmine. “I got Anuko because I was very depressed and suicidal years ago,” she explained to LittleThings. “You could say he saved my life or, at the very least, changed it for the better.”
And people across the internet just love Anuko’s grumpy adorable face. So far, the pup had generated thousands of likes and comments talking about just how funny the photos are.
“I didn’t realize they’d get such a big reaction,” she told LittleThings.
“I think he tolerates wearing costumes and accessories because he knows he gets lots of treats and fuss in return,” his mom told LittleThings. “I think If I didn’t reward him as great as I do in return, then he wouldn’t want to do them!”
And thousands of fans just get a kick out of seeing Anuko’s cute and grumpy-looking Christmas pics, with lots of folks commenting on the look of pure “annoyance” on his face.
People mentioned how Anuko’s expression reminds them of how they feel when spending hours putting up Christmas lights or pulling the Christmas tree down from the attic. A lot of folks felt his face perfectly captured their moods in those moments.
“I think his grumpy look makes people who love Christmas laugh and people who despise Christmas relate,” Jasmine told LittleThings. “So, it was an opportunity for the photos to be loved by everybody. And that’s what makes it so special.”

It seems like no matter the occasion, Anuko always looks like he wishes he were anywhere but there! But Jasmine swears that folks have got her dog all wrong, he’s really the exact opposite of how he looks.
“He’s a docile and relaxed dog and loves everybody and everyone,” his mom told LittleThings. “His over-friendly behavior has got him into trouble sometimes, for example: trying to play with dogs who don’t want to play, so they snap at him to try and get him to go away.”
Jasmine promises that while her dog may seem mean, he’s really one of the most fun-loving pups you’ll ever find. “Anuko chose me — it was a choice between him and his brother,” Jasmine told LittleThings. “When I put him down to pick up his brother, Anuko waddled over to my bag and coat and was pulling them across the room. I think he was trying to say, ‘How dare you put me down!’”
