On occasion, you may be out and about and you happen to see somebody you recognize. If it is somebody famous, then you probably want to get a picture with them.
It can be very interesting and exciting to bump into a celebrity and getting a picture is one way to commemorate the moment so that we will never forget it. If that celebrity happens to be Scarlett Johansson, however, you might want to think twice.
It’s not that Johansson is against taking pictures with a fan. It’s just that she has to be in the right place at the right time in order for it to take place. In fact, she has a rule for taking selfies with fans and some people have been offended at it.
In an interview, she discussed the issues with being famous that occur from time to time. She said: “The thing about being a public figure is that the idea of being recognizable and celebrated feels fun, but then you can never stuff it back in the bottle.
“The reality of it is, there’s a massive loss to that, you know?”
As you probably have guessed, Johansson is not always going to stand there and pose for pictures with fans. Unless she is at an event, she may even limit her interactions with others.
She went into it further, saying: “It really offends a lot of people. It doesn’t mean I’m not appreciative, of course, that people are fans, or happy to see me.
“But I always say to people, ‘I’m not working.’ [And that means] I don’t want to be identified as being in this time and place with you. I’m doing my own thing.”
Sounds completely legitimate if you ask me. I don’t pose for selfies with my fans either unless I’m working LOL
