Government Office Leaks The Unbelievable Cost To Taxpayers After Trump Golfs 13 Rounds

If there’s one thing we know about Donald Trump, it’s the fact that he loves golf. He owns 12 golf courses in the United States and several overseas, just helping to prove that fact.

There is also a lot of talk now about the amount of taxpayer’s money that has gone into his sporting trips since he has taken office. After being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, he has been on multiple outings.

Of course, there have been a lot of other things that have happened during the time that he has been in office. He had a meeting with the Ukrainian president that didn’t go well, renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and brought in Elon Musk to head up the Department of Government Efficiency.

Something else that is interesting is the fact that Trump played golf 13 days out of the first 48 he was in office. Some are saying that this is costing taxpayers a lot of money.

Trump makes no secret that he loves golf and he considers it more of a passion rather than a game. He has 12 golf courses in the United States, one in Ireland, one in the United Arab Emirates, and two in Scotland.

Reports say that he played 10 rounds of golf at the private Trump International West Palm Beach golf course and he played three times at the Trump Doral since he is back in Washington DC. That is an 800 acre resort east of Miami International Airport. The Trump International West Palm Beach golf course is a 27 hole course just a few minutes from the ocean.

The first time Trump was in the White House he also was in the news frequently. The Washington Post thought that his traveling to Florida to play golf would cost about $64 million in 2019 alone.

According to another estimate, that number may be closer to $141 million.

This comes from Robert Reich, author and former Labor secretary. He wrote, at the time: “Once again, Trump brags about donating his $400,000 presidential salary.

“Somehow he forgot to mention that his golf trips have cost taxpayers $141,000,000.”

One of his trips to Scotland to play golf in 2018 also reportedly cost $1 million of taxpayer money. This leads many people to wonder how his 13 rounds of golf have impacted taxpayers in this term.

A report from a Government Accountability Office published in 2019 alleged that the golf trips have probably cost about $18 million of taxpayer money. Trump flies along with his entourage to golf courses using Air Force One and patrolling the golf courses cost a lot of money.

There are also some who say that he would have security with him and Air Force One would be up and ready to go, regardless of whether it was flying or not. It would be nice to have a solid answer on how much extra this cost, rather than just how much it cost in total.
