They often say that ‘a kiss is just a kiss’ but they may not have had the 97th Academy Awards in mind when they said it. It was an unusual evening for Adrian Brody on a number of levels.
51-year-old Adrian Brody managed to win his second Oscar during the 97th Academy Awards. He also has the distinction of being one of the only actors who has won all of the Oscars they were nominated for.
There was something else that occurred at the awards on the red carpet that got a lot of attention as well. 58-year-old Halle Berry walked up to him and planted a big kiss on his lips.
It seemed as if this was a little payback for the controversial kiss that he had given her during the Academy Award ceremony 22 years prior. It was a little risqué, however, because both of them are in relationships and everybody is now asking the same question.
After the kiss, people are wondering ‘I wonder how their partners feel about this. It’s giving cringe.’
Just prior to kissing him, she gave a warning to Chapman who gave an awkward applause to the pair as they kissed each other. She then apologized before walking away.
Many people were shocked, not at what happened but at the fact that she did it right in front of his girlfriend. They considered it to be disrespectful, to say the least.
Not everybody, however, was as distraught over the situation. Some were saying that it was Chapman who applauded, so she must’ve been okay with it. Others said that it’s okay for actors to kiss each other.
