The death of someone we care for is very difficult to handle and when it happens unexpectedly, it can take quite some time to fully understand the situation. That is how one star is now feeling after his wife passed away.
Matt “Dixie” Dix, who was known for his work on the network series: ‘Maine Cabin Masters’ is mourning the loss of his wife, Ginna Dix. She was only 48 years old when she passed away on February 1, 2025.
There is no indication as to the cause of her death in her obituary, although it did say that she ‘died unexpectedly’. The Instagram page for Maine Cabin Masters announced the death, saying: “Beloved wife of Dixie, God Daughter to Ryan’s parents, and friend to so many. Ginna was a huge part of the Maine Cabin Masters family and will be missed tremendously.”
A longtime friend of Matt and Ginna, Ryan Eldridge who also starred on the show shared a tribute on Instagram. He did so with a picture of himself and Ginna, along with a picture from their childhood.
He wrote: “We were born on the same day two years apart, our parents were best friends, you married my best friend.”
Brian also shared some memories from their childhood and then wrote: “You have been a big part of my life since day one and left this world way to soon, but you sure did make a mark in your short time. I love you Gin!”
Ginna played basketball and field hockey when she was in high school. She then studied nursing and earned her nursing degree in 2000. She married Matt in 2001.
Eventually, she would go back to school to earn her Master of science in nursing from Purdue University in 2018. She then worked as a nurse practitioner at the Harold Alfond Center and MaineHealth Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
She is known for her love of the beach and her dogs, and she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Her family is requesting privacy during this difficult time. May she rest in peace.
